We will be sending in Gringos' dna
to be color tested shortly...we know he is black based, with the agouti gene that produces bay (as his sire is dominant for
this gene) along with the dun modifier. What we are unclear on is if he has two cream genes, making him a double dilute
or one cream and one pearl gene - both of which he would have inherited from his sire. With his base color, we know he will be able to produce black
and red based foals, along with sometime adding the bay modifier and also the dun.
Gringo will be bred either in spring
of 2010 or 2011 to some of our mares to see the quality he produces. Our plan is to make him available to outside mares
in the future if he remains a stallion.
